Carolyn DeMiro, LPC

There is no substitute for experience. It plays a key role in our lives and is drawn upon by all, knowingly and unknowingly. It affects our judgment and behavior, and also paves the way for the way we live our life.

Carolyn brings 51 years of life experience along with a formal education in clinical mental health. After a brief stint in the corporate world, She found herself yearning for a more fulfilling career. While raising three daughters, Carolyn found that the fitness industry provided the perfect opportunity for her to help individuals who were motivated to make changes in their lives. After 10 years, Carolyn realized that fitness was only one avenue toward self-betterment. Fitness allowed people to familiarize themselves with their strengths and weaknesses, and became a catharsis for them wanting more. It was at this point that Carolyn knew she wanted to deepen her understanding of the process of change and decided to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Carolyn believes building a strong therapeutic relationship is the backbone to creating a safe space where clients are never judged and free to share. Through a more holistic counseling approach, Carolyn seeks to address the whole person taking into consideration a client’s physical, mental and emotional health as well as social factors that could be impacting an individual’s well-being.

Carolyn is committed to helping those who want to challenge their beliefs, define values, and work toward creating healthy expectations that provide trust and empowerment in self. Carolyn is a trauma informed, relational therapist with experience in treating childhood trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, sex/love addiction, sexual anorexia and enmeshment. With the belief that every person’s life experience is unique, she draws from different theories to help individuals and couples gain a better understanding of themselves. Carolyn has extensive experience in the life-changing work of Pia Mellody’s Post Induction Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, Imago Relationship Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
